Magnesium polyaspartate is the magnesium salt form of polyaspartic acid. Polyaspartic acid is a kind of biopolymer, which is polymerized from aspartic acid monomers. Its molecular chains contain a large number of functional groups such as carboxyl groups (-COOH). When these carboxyl groups react with magnesium ions (Mg²⁺) to form ionic bonds, magnesium polyaspartate is obtained. From the perspective of chemical structure, it is a kind of polyamino acid compound with magnesium ions.

1) Chelating ability for metal ions: The polyaspartic acid part in magnesium polyaspartate has a strong chelating effect on metal ions, especially having a close combination with magnesium ions themselves. For example, in water treatment, it can chelate metal ions like calcium and magnesium in water to prevent the formation of scale.
