IDS and Other Chelator Products
As a chelating agent, GLDA molecules contain multiple active groups that can bind to metal ions. The oxygen atoms on the carboxyl and acetic acid groups of glutamic acid can provide lone pair electrons, forming coordination bonds with metal ions. This chelating effect has strong selectivity and has different chelating abilities for different metal ions, but generally has good chelating effects on common metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper.
